A Church Without Walls

Why Give to Grace?

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must give as they has decided in their heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9: 6-7

Here at Grace we rejoice in witnessing all the ways God’s love is multiplied when we use our gifts. We challenge ourselves to take the small seeds of generosity we find in community and turn it into more love for the world. Each Sunday, we are invited to lift up both our spiritual and financial gifts and bless them to God’s use.

I’m proud of the work we are doing at Grace UMC. Each week, I see you all reach out to welcome visitors with genuine joy and kindness. We offer life-changing outreach and soul-renewing studies. Our choirs are a spirit-filled part of worship that I look forward to each week. We have children who call this church home and are growing in faith because of your teaching.

We live in a world that desperately needs those persistent voices of love in the world. We can look to the extreme examples, the worst of our brokenness, but we don’t have to look too far down our streets to see the quieter ways that brokenness takes hold. The ministries that we provide here, and the ministries that we dream of beginning do important and real work to heal that brokenness. I believe, so honestly, that Grace UMC is a powerful force for change in Mesa. I believe we are called to extraordinary world-changing mission. I know that we are rooted in a transformative love. I’m asking you to believe, deeply and honestly, in mission of Grace UMC, I’m asking you to allow God to act in a new way. I’m asking you to invest in this love of God as expressed through our community because the love you know will allow you to do no other.

We are at the beginning of exciting new ministries that will only expand the ministries of the church you love. We have opportunities to reach out to more people and grow deeper in our own faith. We are a church known for our prayers and our kindness, and we all know the world needs more of that.  We are a church that matters to our community and we want to continue that work. So I ask you to please consider giving to our ministries through a one-time gift, a pledged offering, or remembering us in your will.

With God’s Love,
Pastor Janessa
