YOUTH
The youth of Grace United Methodist Church strive to live the mission and vision statement of our church.  From mission trips to Christian education to community service to youth fellowship to volleyball, we are actively involved in service to our Lord, service to our community, and service to each other.

Program Opportunities:

+ Sunday School is held Sunday mornings following worship.  After the worship service we gather in Fellowship Hall for donuts and drinks before moving to our classrooms at 10:30.  Sunday school lasts 45 - 60 minutes.

+ United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)
meets Sunday evenings. Our evening begins at 6:00 and ends at 7:30.  Please have dinner before you arrive.  Senior High meets in the Youth Room and Junior High meets in the Junior High Room.  Both groups participate in age appropriate programs...from Bible Study to growing edge conversations.

+ MISSION: We believe in putting our faith into action.  Because of this we participate in mission and service throughout the year.

+In January of this year, we participated in the Souper Bowl, and raised over $650 to assist homeless senior citizens at the Justa Center in central Phoenix.
+This summer we were in South Los Angeles for a week-long Sierra Service Project mission opportunity.
+We also work within our community including serving at work at the Wesley Center in downtown Phoenix and participating in Grace's own weekly Sidewalk Sunday School program.

+ VOLLEYBALL: In the summer months, volleyball becomes a large part of our UMYF program.  We practice on Sunday evenings and have games on Wednesdays in June and July.  We compete against other church youth groups from surrounding United Methodist churches.  While competition is part of the equation, Christian fellowship and good sportsmanship are the foundation of the program.  Appropriate behavior is modeled by all
adults and expected from all youth participants.
