I'm sending you the text of an e-mail I recently received from our Career Development Director that details some of the Mini Miracles that happen every day here at Save the Family. None of these would be possible without you and I wanted you to know about the difference you are making in people's lives. We are so grateful for your help! Please share this good news with anyone you think may be interested.
It's been a great week in the CDC! Here are some great mini-miracles:
Shanna H. arrived this morning screaming and shouting for joy. She obtained her GED!
Ironically, she received a call yesterday to schedule an interview for a customer service position. She was told to bring a copy of her HS Diploma/GED to the interview. She had to decline the interview as she wasn't able to find out her results until today, BUT called the recruiter back stating she had the documents needed for the interview. He rescheduled her to interview today! Stay tuned!
Yvonne S. is excelling everyday at her new job!
She reported yesterday that although she's only been on the job for 3 weeks, she's already in 2nd place for her sales performance. She stated she often goes in early to work to obtain additional training. Yvonne has one of the best "can do" attitudes!
Don't forget about our Next Step families. Swan L. is happy to report she started work this week!
With the funding provided to Swan, she was able to renew her L.P.N. license and purchase new interview attire. She interviewed last week and started working this week as an L.P.N. earning $20/hr. Michelle K. was a huge part of the success providing transportation to the State Board of Nursing and to the store to buy her clothing. She was choked up as she thanked Save the Family for the tools and resources that allowed her to return to the workforce.
Michelle V. is happy she attend Job Club on 8-23-11!
The recruiter from Safelite Auto Glass was the host for Job Club on 8-23-11. He guaranteed an interview to the clients that were in Job Club that day. Michelle V. is the first to be interviewed and hired. After weeks of job searching, she was offered 3 positions in one week including the position with Safelite. She'll be making a decision by the end of this week. Stay tuned!
Blessings.
